LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen have shot dead two individuals in the Nawa district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Monday.
Hafiz Rashid, director of information and culture, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in the Treekh Nawar locality of Kakaran village on Sunday night.
“Three shopkeepers, who visited a common friend’s house in the area, were attacked by unknown gunmen. Two of them were killed and a third wounded,” the director added.
Rashid said the bodies and the injured were evacuated to the Lashkargah Emergency Hospital.
The wounded man is said to be in stable condition. The security forces have mounted a search for the killers, the official concluded.
