KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has appointed former middle-order batsman Noor-ul-Haq Malikzai as chief selector
In the wake of Asadullah Khan’s resignation, Malikzai had been serving as the interim selector for the last three months, a cricket news website reported.
Cricbuzz quoted ACB CEO Naseeb Khan as commending Malikzai’s efforts as interim chief selector.
He noted selections for the Netherlands and Bangladesh series were great. He also praised Malikzai’s team selections for the U19 Asia Cup and U19 World Cup.
“I would like to congratulate him and wish him all the best for the future.” The ACB CEO added.
Meanwhile, Malikzai said: “We have a busy 2022, and as a team we will be working on to not only address our short-term needs but also achieve our long-term goals.”
