KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s embassy in the Czech Republic has urged the United States to release the country’s assets to help it avert economic collapse.
The release of its full assets would prevent the war-torn country from becoming a safe haven for terrorists yet again, the embassy wrote in a letter to the US court hearing claims of 9/11 victims’ relatives.
Afghanistan’s weak economy would collapse and the country would slip into chaos, instability and conflict if the US did not reverse its decision regarding the Afghan assets, the letter warned.
