KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says it is using all available resources to relocate the Afghans, including students, living in Ukraine to safe place.
Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday ordered a military operation in the Donbass region of Ukraine. The attack is still ongoing, causing hundreds of casualties.
In a statement, the ministry said the caretaker government was concerned about the safety of Afghans in Ukraine and was striving to relocate them to safe place.
The ministry said it had contacted regional countries and international organisations to help ensure the security of Afghan nationals.
On Friday, MoFA called on the warring parties to find a peaceful solution and pay due attention to the safety of the Afghans living in Ukraine.
Peter Maurer, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), said he was worried about the safety of the people of Ukraine.
He added ICRC stood by the people of Ukraine and that aid groups were working to help those in need.
He urged the warring parties to respect the principles of war, protect civilians and prisoners, and spare the institutions involved in taking care of homes, schools and medical facilities.
