KABUL (Pajhwok): Pakistan has delivered more than 28 truckload of wheat to Afghanistan, which has been faced with a severe food crisis.
The Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum handed over the wheat to Afghan authorities at Torkham in Khyber tribal district.
Pakistan Ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan and Afghanistan’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maulvi Ghulam Mir were present on the occasion.
Khan, who handed over the consignment to Mir, said he Pakistani had been cooperating with Afghanistan on humanitarian grounds.
Besides providing Afghanistan with emergency facilities, he said, Pakistan was also facilitating Afghan patients.
Steps had been taken to boost trade between the neighbours, he said, regretting the trade volume had been affected by the situation in Afghanistan.
