KABUL (Pajhwok): Germany has stressed the need for mobilizing assistance for humanitarian support to Afghanistan and announced co-hosting a high-level meeting on the Afghanistan situation with the United Kingdom.
Germany State Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Tobias Lindner made the announcement on his Twitter handle saying: “More than 24 million Afghans are in need of humanitarian aid. We need to continue mobilizing assistance for them. Glad to announce that Germany will co-host a High-level Pledging Event for #Afghanistan together with the @FCDOGovUK on March 31.”
Afghanistan plunged into the worst ever economic and humanitarian crisis after the fall of the previous government and takeover by the Taliban last year on August 15.
