ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Officials in western Nimroz province say Afghan and Iranian forces have clashed in Kang border district of the province.
HabibaullahElham, Nimroz information and culture director, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the clash took place on Monday evening.
However, he said, “The situation was brought under control immediately by the border officials of both countries, the situation is currently normal.”
He did not provide further details about the incident. However, a resident in Kang district, who wished to go unnamed, said that the clash took place when Iranian forces started work on Sikhar canal in the area, which faced with response from Afghan forces.
The source said the clash stopped after an hour with the mediation of the officials of both sides.
