SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Over 1,500 drought-affected families in northern Jawzjan province have received food assistance, an official said on Thursday.
Agriculture Director Qari Ebadullah Ansari told Pajhwok Afghan News the food assistance was provided by the World Food Program.
Each family received100 kilograms of flour, 14 kilograms of bean, five kilograms of sugar and one kilogram of salt.
Referring to the aid, Ansari said most people in Jawzjan were associated with agriculture and they were faced with a shortage of food due to drought.
