KABUL (Pajhwok): Russian President Vladimir Putin claims talks between Moscow and Kiev on the situation in Ukraine are making headway.
Without going into details, Putin said this at a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on Friday.
TASS news agency quoted Putin as saying: “I will certainly inform you about the situation regarding Ukraine, first of all, about how the negotiations are going on…”
Certain positive developments had taken place, as negotiators between the two sides continued, the Russian leader added.
Russian and Ukrainian delegates have held three rounds of meetings in Belarus. The date and venue of the fourth round, however, are yet to be announced.
On Thursday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba met in Turkey.
