FIROZKOH (Pajhwok): GhulamSakhiSakha, a resident of western Ghor province, spent his childhood in an orphanage and was able to reach a higher position after many hardships and created educational centers for children and youths.
The 32 years old man is a resident of Takha Timor area of Firozkoh city, the capital of Ghor province where spent painful days of his life.
At his childhood, Sakha lost his life supporters, his father and mother. Civil wars deprived him of the blessings of father and mother.
Sakha said that he lived with his uncles for about a year, and spent eight years with his maternal grandparents’ family where he received his primary education.
"When I was with my maternal grandfather; I learned to read the Holy Quran, he was a compassionate and kind man, but these good days did not last long when my grandfather passed away, my bitter life started again,” he said.
After the death of his grandfather, he was again forced to go to join his uncle’s family and experience bad days as his uncle was not in a good financial position and he had to work alongside him when he was still a child.
However, in addition to doing hard work, he was also attending his school and studied, and despite many problems in his life, he did not give up learning.
Sakha said that he was in eighth class in school when he learnt about an orphanage for what he struggled a lot to be taken in, but no one was helping him. However, he said that after huge struggles, he was eventually able to be accepted in the orphanage and study in Sultan AlauddinGhori High school.
He would usually secure the first position in his school and teachers loved him due to his hard work.
While in school, Sakha was working on Thursdays and Fridays to earn money for buying his notebooks, pens and other educational materials.
Remembering the bitter days of his life, Sakha wiped tears from his eyes and continued, "My mother wished I could study. She was saying that the only way for our family’s improvement was my education, and I also worked hard so I fulfill the wishes of my mother.”
He said being an orphan and extremely poor, he promised with himself to provide fundamental services to orphans when he found a chance.
After graduating from school and passing the entry exam to university, he started studying his favorite field of engineering in Balkh University, but he was still suffering from economic issues.
After going through many difficulties while studying, Sakha finally received his diploma in 2015.
Sakha after graduation fulfilled his promise and first set up an educational center called Al-Haq in Firozkoh city with the aim of providing better quality education to young people.
"In this educational center, we launched various programs, including the preparation for the entry exam for girls and boys. Fortunately, a large number of girls and boys from were able to find their way to the fields of medicine and engineering in the country's universities every year,” he said.
He also opened an institute named Maharat in Firozkoh city. "At this institute, we enroll students in the fields of administration and business, computer science, banking and English language, and we also graduated many classes so far,” he said.
Around two years ago Sakha established the first private school named NukhbaganFirozkoh in Firozkoh city where many boys and girls learn.
In addition to his educational activities, he has also tried to raise funds for the needy people in the province.
Sakha hopes to be able to effectively transfer his knowledge to others, especially the new generation of the country. He said that he plans to pursue a master's and doctoral degree in order to make a valuable contribution to mathematics.
Some families whose children are studying in the NukhbaganFirozkoh School appreciate Sakha efforts in educating their children.
