KABUL (Pajhwok): The cabinet on Wednesday approved the formation of a commission that would be headed by Mulavi Shahabuddin Delawar to contact and encourage Afghans living abroad to return to their country.
A statement from the Office of Administrative Affairs received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that the cabinet’s today meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund.
The cabinet approved formation of “Commission for Communication and Repatriation of Afghan Personalities.”
The commission would be chaired by Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Mulavi Shahabuddin Delawar, acting mines and petroleum minister, the statement said.
The statement did not provide further details.
After the regime change in the country in August, a number of Afghan figures migrated to foreign countries while many others have been living abroad since many years.
The source said that the cabinet also decided that security personnel of Islamic Emirate could not use posters of Islamic Emirate leaders on their vehicles.
The Economic Commission in the meeting was instructed to review the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for creation of special economic zones for investors and share the result with the cabinet.
The meeting also discussed the problems of land transport, particularly the complaints of passengers at bus stations and shifts of cargo trucks and a team was appointed for finding solutions to the mentioned issues.
