JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Police in eastern Nangarhar province have prevented the smuggling of 41 historic artifacts, an official said on Thursday.
Qari Noor Mohammad Hanif, director of information and culture, told Pajhwok Afghan News police seized the historical and cultural artifacts during a search operation.
He said the items included rare pieces of jewelry made of gold, silver and metal, necklaces made of marble, cultural costumes and other items.
At the same time, the director announced that a museum of cultural and historical items would be opened soon in the province.
