PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Pakistan has reaffirmed its consistent support for efforts for sustainable peace in Afghanistan and the provision of humanitarian assistance to it.
At a meeting with Tajikistan’s foreign minister, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said lasting stability in Afghanistan was vital to regional prosperity.
Neighbouring countries could play a key role in stabilising Afghanistan, he believed, saying a peaceful, stable, prosperous and connected Afghanistan was in everyone’s interest.
Khan also stressed the importance of a transit trade agreement between Pakistan and Tajikistan to enhance bilateral trade and economic linkages.
Referring to enhanced engagement with Central Asia, the premier renewed Pakistan’s commitment to the timely completion of the CASA-1000 power project.
