KABUL (Pajhwok): India has dispatched the fifth consignment of 2,000 metric tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan, says a news report.
The latest shipment, which was sent to the Wagah border on Wednesday, is part of the 50,000 MT of wheat India has donated to Afghanistan on humanitarian grounds.
ANI news agency quoted Customs Commissioner Rahul Nangare as saying: “This is the 5th consignment of 2000 MT of wheat, which is being sent to Afghanistan via Attari-Wagah border.”
One Afghan driver told the media outlet: “There is a huge shortage of food in Afghanistan. I would like to thank the Indian government for its help.”
