CHRIKAR (Pajhwok): Security forces have defused a landmine 500 metres from the residence of the governor of central Parwan province, police said on Sunday.
The landmine was planted by the enemies of the Islamic Emirate in the Haji Wazir Khan locality of the first police district of Charikar, the provincial capital, a police statement said.
Security forces discovered the landmine that was defused by the bomb disposal squad, the statement from the police headquarters added.
Police spokesman Kamran Habibi said the mine had been planted in a stream and was defused early on Sunday. nh/mud . . .
