KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on Monday said Indonesia had pledged to support educational institutions in Afghanistan, while Qatari officials would open Red Crescent and Qatar Charity offices in capital Kabul.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi today in a series of tweets said that Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Mualvi Amir Khan Mottaqi met with Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudiand Qatari Deputy Foreign Minister Lolwah Alkhater.
He said that the three sides discussed humanitarian, economic and educational situations in Afghanistan.
Balkhi said that Qatar and Indonesia assured the Afghan side that they were ready to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
Indonesian foreign minister promised that the country was ready to support educational institutions in Afghanistan and provide scholarships to Afghan students, he said.
He added that Qatar's deputy foreign minister also promised to open Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent offices in Kabul in the near future.
The Afghan delegation welcomed Qatar's and Indonesia's commitment to the Afghan people and assured them of cooperation from their side, Balkhi concluded.
