Rashid named vice-captain of Gujarat Titans

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has been appointed as the vice-captain of the Gujarat Titans, a cricket news website reported on Monday.

Gujarat Titans are all poised to play their first Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) today (Monday), according to CricTracker.

Having captained Afghanistan in a number of matches at the international level, Rashid Khan was bought by the Titans for 15 crore Indian rupees.

On their Instagram handle, the Titans posted a photograph of Rashid having a laugh with skipper Hardik Pandya. “Rashid bhai becomes our vice-captain,” the caption read.

Keen on learning from Pandya, the ace leggie is ready to share his experiences with the captain. “He is the captain, it will be a great opportunity for me to learn as much as possible.

“I will also share my experiences of playing in different leagues. He is a new captain and this is a new team. so definitely there will be so many things going on around his mind,” Rashid commented.
