PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar says Pakistan has been trying to bring peace and stability to Afghanistan.
At a meeting with Azerbaijan Ambassador Khazar Farhadov, Sarwar also referred to Pakistan’s sincere efforts for the eradication of terrorism from the region.
With regard to the current situation in Afghanistan, the governor urged the international community to provide generous humanitarian aid for the Afghans.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the government of Pakistan was doing all it could to ensure peace in the region, he added.
The governor remarked: “A strong and stable Afghanistan is a must for peace. The world must play its part in Afghanistan’s economic development.”
Ambassador Khazar Farhadov promised is country would continue to play its role in connecting Central Asian states through Afghanistan.
