JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Five kidnappers were killed during an operation in eastern Nangarhar province on Wednesday, the governor’s house said.
A statement from the Nangarhar governor's house received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that intelligence forces launched an operation in the MulaviKhalisFamili area of Jalalabad, the provincial capital, today.
The statement said five kidnappers were killed during the operation and five Kalashnikovs, some ammunition and military equipment were recovered from them.
Intelligence forces also arrested an unidentified armed man in SaraiQala area of Chaparhar district of Nangarhar province.
The source said that two Kalashnikovs, 14magazines, four hand grenades, a walkie-talkie and other military equipment were seized from the detainee.
Nangarhar intelligence department has also posted the statement on its Facebook page.
