KABUL (Pajhwok): The passport distribution process will resume across the country next week, says an official of the department.
Shafiullah Tasal, spokesman for the Passport Department, told Pajhwok Afghan News applicants could apply online for the document with effect from April 5.
For those who have applied earlier, the distribution process will be completed on Tuesday. He said the process would the return to normal nationwide.
Tasal urged the public not to pay bribe to anyone for obtaining passports. Instead, he asked people apply online for the national document.
In order to facilitate the process, he said, the bank collecting the passport fee had been shifted to the department.
“So far, 500,000 people have obtained passports. Nearly two billion afghanis collected in revenue have been deposited the government’s treasury,” he informed.
