HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Four people were killed and 25 others injured in a bomb blast in the Engil district of western Herat province, according to hospital sources on Saturday.
Herat Zonal Hospital Director Dr. Mohammad Arif Jalali told Pajhwok Afghan News four bodies and 25 injured had been evacuated from the site of the blast to the hospital.
The blast he said took place on Friday evening in the Engil district township.
Mohammad Tayyib, a local resident, said the blast happened at around 6:00pm in the Tawhid Guzar area when several local residents gathered to watch a local game.
He said explosive materials were placed earlier in the area, adding that security personnel have launched investigation.
Herat security officials have not spoken about the incident so far. No group claimed responsibility for the blast too.
After regime change last year it was the third deadliest blast in Herat province.
