JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 180 weapons were confiscated during a joint house-to-house operation in eastern Nangarhar province.
The operation was launched on Sunday in Jalalabad City, the provincial capital, by intelligence department, police headquarters, Ministry of Defence and Border forces.
Wahidullah Mohammadi, a spokesman for the Khalid-bin-Walid military corps, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 172 weapons and military equipment were seized during the past 24 hours of the operations in Jalalabad.
The items seized included 172 different weapons, an armored vehicle, a magnetic bomb, nine hand grenades, nine binoculars, three walkie talkie, 27 bags of military uniforms and others.
Mohammadi said the operations ended successfully without any problem.
Media office of the governor’s house also confirmed the operations in a separate statement.
