ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Some residents of the Sheltan district of eastern Kunar province say their children have contracted various diseases due to lack of clean drinking water in their areas.
The Public Health Department acknowledged that children in Sheltan district were suffering from diarrhea and eye and skin infections due to the shortage of clean water.
Haji Attaullah, an elder from Sheltan, told Pajhwok Afghan News there were only three water wells in the entire district. A limited number of families benefit from these wells.
