ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Residents involved in the excavation of precious stones in eastern Kunar province pay the state one-third of the revenue, an official said on Thursday.
Director of Mining Maulvi Sediqullah Adel said the individuals mining precious stones paid the state one-third of their profit in line with government policy.
Precious stone reserves exist in Manogi and Chapa Dara districts of Kunar province.
Adel said: “Since the Islamic Emirate’s takeover, 550,273 afs have been deposited in the state exchequer in revenue from precious stone mining in Kunar.”
