KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Security forces in northern Kunduz province arrested two persons and recovered 300 kilograms of opium from their possession, police said.
Qari Obaidullah Obaidi, Kunduz police spokesman, said that the suspects wanted to transport 300 kilograms of opium from Badakhshan to Kandahar province, but they were arrested in Khanabad district of Kunduz province.
He said that a pistol and a Kalashnikov were also recovered from the detainees.
Islamic Emirate is firmly working to eradicate drugs and does not allow anyone to smuggle or cultivate narcotics, he added.
