JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 545 heavy and light weapons have been seized in a joint house-to-house operation in eastern Nangarhar province.
Police spokesman Abdul Basir Zabuli told Pajhwok Afghan News the operation involving intelligence, police and Ministry of Defence forces ended on Friday.
He said the security forces recovered 545 light and heavy weapons, including machine guns, pistols and Kalashnikovs, during the operation.
He added in addition to the weapons, other military equipment was also seized. According to Zabuli, a moneychanger was also rescued and two of his kidnappers were detained.
