KABUL (Pajhwok): Abbas Karimi, a disabled Afghan swimmer, has won a gold medal in men’s 50-meter butterfly S1-S7 in the Indianapolis 2022 Para Swimming World Series.
The swimming competition was launched in Indianapolis, in the United States, and Karimi was able to qualify for the upcoming Madeira 2022 Para Swimming World Championships in Portugal by winning the gold medal.
Karimi is currently an Afghan refugee in the US but participated in the swimming race as an American citizen.
