KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology (MoTIT) says about 133 media outlets that have failed to renew their frequency licences owe it 202 million afghanis.
A list shared by the ministry with Pajhwok Afghan News shows 133 radio stations and television channels have to pay 198.7 million afs and $454,395 for non-renewal of 247 frequency licences.
In a letter to the Ministry of Interior, MoTIT and the Afghanistan Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (ATRA) wrote: “As you know better, we issue specific frequency licences to every radio and TV channel after legal procedures and payment based . . .
