KABUL (Pajhwok): The Cabinet has approved a suggestion from the Ministry of Finance to exempt humanitarian aid from the customs duty.
Chaired by Prime Minister Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, a Cabinet meeting was held on Tuesday, Bakhtar News Agency reported.
The Cabinet approved the MoF proposal to do away with the customs tariff on humanitarian assistance, the state-run news agency added.
The meeting urged all aid-receiving ministries to inform MoF two days before the arrival of humanitarian assistance convoys
This will help process the humanitarian assistance and customs exemptions without delays.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock was directed to take serious action to complete the re-activation of agriculture and animal health laboratories.
The Cabinet also instructed a high-level delegation to scrutinise and finalise procedure for using VIP lounges at the country’s international airports, and to carefully examine problems in various sectors to ensure full order.
