Curbs on salary withdrawals lifted, says central bank

KABUL (Pajhwok): The central bank has lifted restrictions on the withdrawal of salaries by government and private sector employees.

A spokesman for Da Afghanistan Bank said all government and private-sector workers could receive their salaries from banks without any restrictions.

On a video message on Wednesday, Sabir Momand announced DAB had removed curbs on salary withdrawals in line with a strategic plan for the reconstruction of the banking and financial sector.

At a meeting of the economic commission earlier in the week, Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar suggested a plan to relax the banking curbs.
