KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Afghan foreign minister Mualvi Amir Khan Muttaqi has met with ambassadors of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan and representatives of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan to discuss relations, trade and economic ties.
A statement from the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that Muttaqi met with ambassadors and representatives of Central Asian countries.
The foreign minister talked aboutAfghanistan-Central Asia relations, trade and economic integration and stressed that the present opportunities should be used for the benefit of the whole region.
Ambassadors and envoys from Central Asian countries emphasized the importance of working together with Afghanistan in the areas of trade, transit, railways and energy transit through Afghanistan, the statement said.
The ministry said that some other specific issues were also discussed and all sides pledged joint efforts for the prosperity of the region.
