Azami said children provided with food items earlier registered in the Mirwais Zonal Hospital and they were provided with treatment.

“According to a survey the level of malnutrition has surged to 17 percent in the province, in the past it stood at 13 percent,” he said.

Enayatullah, the resident of Kandahar City, said his daughter suffered from malnutrition due to deteriorated economic situation and he hospitalized her in the Mirwais Zonal Hospital.

Shah Mohammad, another resident of Kandahar City, said earlier, he hospitalized his son in the hospital for treatment and today he was provided with assistance.

He said from the past few weeks he was unemployed and there was no work opportunity for him therefore his family suffered from the shortage of food.
