KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of fuel and cooking oil have increased while the rates of flour and Arabian gold dipped during the outgoing week in capital Kabul, market sources said Thursday.

A worker of Ahmadyar Group Fuel Station in Kabul told Pajhwok Afghan News that the price of one liter of petrol increased from 66 afghanis to 70 afghanis and the same quantity of diesel from 72 afghanis to 79 afghanis.

Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in Kulula Pushta area of Kabul said that the price of a kilogram of the commodity decreased from 66afs to 64afs.

In food items, the price of ghee has increased.

Zamarai Safi, head of Food Traders Union in Kabul, the price of a tin of 16 liters of Malaysian cooking oil has decreased from 2,700afs to 2,850afs this week.

However, he said that the price of a bag of 49 kilograms of Kazakhstani flour dipped from 2,450afs to 2,350afs.

Safi said that the price of 24.5 kilograms of Pakistani rice was 2,500afs, a bag of 49kg of Indian sugar 2,800afs, a kilogram of African black tea 400afs and the same quantity of Indonesian green tea 350afs, the same rates of last week.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer in Dahan-i-Bagh area of Kabul said that the price of a bag of 49kg of Kazakhstani flour was 2,400afs, 24kg of rice 2,550afs, 49kg of Indian sugar 2,850afs , a tin of 16 liters of Malaysian ghee 2,900afs, a kilogram of Indonesian green tea 400afs and the same quantity of African black tea 450afs, higher than wholesale rates.

Arabian gold price decreased.

Mohammad Javid, a jeweler in Lycee Mariam area of Kabul said that the price of one gram of Arabian gold decreased from 4,450afs to 4,400afs while the same quantity of Russian variety stayed at 3,500afs.

Haji Hussain, owner of Sadaqat Money Exchange Service in Sara-i-Shahzada Market in Kabul, said that one US dollar accounted for 86afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees 480afs the same as last week’s exchange rates.
