KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s veteran leg-spinner Rashid Khan has crossed an important milestone in the Indian Premier League, says a media report.
The bowler captured his first wicket of the innings against the Kolkata Knight Riders in this year’s edition of IPL on Saturday.
Playing in his sixth season of IPL, Rashid took his 100th-wicket mark when he accounted for KKR’s Venkatesh Iyer, the Hindustan Times reported.
The newspaper said the cricketer from eastern Nangarhar province, representing the Gujarat Titans (GT), has become the third-fastest bowler in IPL history to reach the three-figure mark.
Rashid claimed his 100th IPL wicket in his 83rd match, equalling the record set by Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra, the report added.
Lasith Malinga, ex-quickie from Sri Lanka, holds the record for the fastest to reach 100 wickets in 70 matches.
