CHARIKAR/ZARANJ (Pajhwok): The revenue departments of central Parwan province and southwestern Nimroz provinces over 84.6 million afghanis and 180.9 million afghanis respectively in the last three months.

Parwan Revenue Department announced its revenue statistics for the last three months of 1400 solar year today at a meeting of provincial officials. The department said that 84.6 million afghanis had been collected during the period.

Mufti Kefayatullah Haqqani, Parwan revenue director, said 62.9 million afghanis were collected from the Department of Public Works, 21 million afghanis from the Department of Mines and Petroleum, and the remaining 700,000 afghanis from other sources.

He said that the previous government was unable to reach its target of revenue collection, but they were able to reach the target in a short period of time.

Mualvi Obaidullah Aminzadah, Parwan governor, described revenue collection as the basis of the government and stressed that the revenue should be collected responsibly.

According to another report, Sayed Shah Agha, director of Revenue Department of Nimroz province, said without elaborating that in the last three months of last solar year, the department’s revenue reached more than 180.9 million afghanis.

He said that the Ministry of Finance had set a target of 140 million afghanis for the department for the period.
