KABUL (Pajhwok): A high-level Afghan delegation is set to visit Tehran for talks on refugee-related issues and a border spat.
Minister of Refugees and Repatriation Khalilur Rahman Haqqani, who will lead the delegation, said: “We are trying to visit Iran to talk about all problems that Afghans have with Iran.”
Speaking to private broadcaster TOLOnews, the acting minister said: “We hope we can talk and solve the problems.”
The delegation’s visit to Tehran comes in the wake of recent tensions between the Afghan security forces and Iranian border guards.
A dispute happened on Saturday between the two sides in the Islam Qala district of western Herat province after the Afghan forces tried to pave a road in the region.
