KABUL (Pajhwok): The government and political leaders have vehemently denounced a deadly mosque bombing in Kabul.
Dozens of worshippers were killed and wounded, many critically, in Friday’s suicide attack in the capital.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the government spokesman, condemned the attack in the strongest terms. The perpetrators would be brought to justice, he tweeted.
Ex-president Hamid Karzai slammed the attack as an inhuman act. He called the handiwork of the enemies of the Afghan people.
Former High Council for National Reconciliation chairman Dr. Abdullah Abdullah condemned the explosion as a crime against humanity. Such acts were contrary to Islamic teachings and human values, he said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing, but the Islamic State is often blamed for mass-casualty attacks.
