250 Ukrainian aircraft, choppers wiped out: Russia

KABUL (Pajhwok): Russia claims having destroyed more than 140 Ukrainian combat aircraft and 110 helicopters since the war started in late February.

The Russian Defence Ministry spokesman said on Saturday 650 unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukraine have also been eliminated.

TASS news agency quoted Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov as saying Russian troops had also destroyed 279 Ukrainian surface-to-air missile systems, 2,656 tanks and other armored vehicles.

He added 307 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,189 field artillery guns and mortars and 2,492 special military motor vehicles, had also been annihilated.
