PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Militant attacks in Pakistan surged by 24 percent in April as compared to March 2022, says an Islamabad-based institution.
The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) the insurgents staged 34 attacks across the country in April.
At least 55 people were killed, including 34 security personnel, 13 civilians and eight militants, statistics from PICSS revealed.
Another 25 people were wounded, including 11 security personnel and 14 civilians.
In March, militants had conducted 26 attacks across Pakistan, killing 115 people and injuring 288 others.
Former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) saw most of the attacks, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.
The security forces carried out 22 raids against militants, killing 11 suspected insurgents and detaining 27 others. Most of the arrests happened in Punjab.
