KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): At least 11 people died and 80 others were wounded in traffic accidents in northern Kunduz province during Eid holidays, an official said on Saturday.
Dr. Najibullah Sahil, public health director, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 11 people were killed and 80 more wounded during Eid in traffic accidents.
He said women and children were among the injured, with most of the accidents occurring in the Imam Sahib district.
He urged all drivers to observe traffic rules.
Abdul Mahfuz, whose father was injured on the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr, told Pajhwok: “My father was going to offer Eid prayer when a car with no number plate hit him and he is currently in the hospital.”
Police spokesman Qari Obaidullah Abidi said vehicles without registration numbers would be dealt with legally.
