KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE) on Sunday said that Dr.GhulamFarooqAzam has been appointed as an advisor to the ministry and he was introduced to the ministry's officials today.
A statement from MoWE received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that Dr. Farooq Azam was introduced to the staff of the ministry by acting water and energy minister, Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, today.
The statement said that Mansoor called Farooq Azam a diligent Mujahid and a great scholar and wished him success in his responsibility.
Dr. Farooq Azam, a resident of Kandahar province, possessed doctorate degrees in water resources development from the US and the United Kingdom, the source said.
The statement added that Azam has also served in Mujahideen government as minister of education and minister of refugees and repatriation.
