KABUL (Pajhwok): European Union (EU) Ambassador and Head of Delegation to Afghanistan Von Brandt has expressed his concern at reports about the killings of civilians and their mistreatment in central Panjsher province, a claim rejected by the acting government authorities.
On his Twitter handle Brandt wrote: “Concerned by reports of killings of civilians and mistreatment in #Pandshir. We mourn the innocent loss of life. Once more, the situation underlines the need for overdue inclusive solutions in governing Afghanistan.”
But acting government spokesperson Bilal Karimi told Pajhwok Afghan New that the reports regarding the killing and mistreatment of civilians in Panjsher were untrue.
He said the rights of civilians were protected and nobody had the right to violate them.
