Man rescued from kidnappers in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): Intelligence personnel in capital Kabul have rescued a man from kidnappers and arrested an alleged kidnapper during a raid.

The General Directorate of Intelligence (GDI) tweeted that they rescued Hassan from kidnappers based on some detective information.

The source said during the operation, a kidnapper was also arrested with some of the cash he had taken from Hassan’s family in ransom.

The GDI also published a video clip in this regard, Abdullah who introduces himself as the resident of Daikundi, said: “We have abducted Hassan, we have received 75,000 afghanis transferred from Iran and waiting for another 50,000 afghanis but I was arrested by intelligence.”

Hassan said he had been abducted by unknown individuals and demanded 500,000 afghanis in ransom against his release.

Hassan’s wife said: “My husband was abducted 23 days ago, the kidnappers contacted us 10 days after his abduction and demanded 500,000 afghanis.”

“Initially we gave them 75,000 afghanis, but the Islamic Emirate forces arrested the kidnapper at a time when we wanted to give him another 50,000 afghanis,” she explained.

The date of the release was not mentioned in the video.
