Teenage boy killed in Zabul, 3 suspects arrested

QALAT (Pajhwok): A teenage boy has been killed by unidentified people in Qalat, the capital of southern Zabul province, officials said Sunday.

ZabihullahJawhar, provincial police spokesman, confirmed the incident and said the teenager named Azizullah was killed on Saturday night.

He added that three people had been arrested in connection with the murder, who were currently under investigation.

Some media outlets reported that the teenager was raped, tortured and then murdered.

However, ZabihullahJawhar said that an investigation was underway and the details would be shared later with the media.

A doctor at Zabul Civil Hospital, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok that the boy, who had been severely beaten, was brought to the hospital while in coma.
