KABUL (Pajhwok): The General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports says a health committee has been created in the directorate to provide free health services to athletes.
The committee created in collaboration with Aliabad Hospital of Kabul and the National Olympic Committee, was inaugurated at the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports’ hall today, Wednesday.
Dad Mohammad Nawak, spokesman for the National Olympic Committee and the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the establishment of the committee to diagnose and treat athletes was an urgent need.
He said that the committee, established within the framework of the National Olympic Committee and the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports, was aimed to provide better health services to athletes.
He added that the services would cover sports areas where there was a great need and included orthopedic, neurological and mental wards, where athletes' health problems would diagnosed free of charge.
Nazar Mohammad Mutmaen, General Directorate of Physical Education and Sports head thanked Aliabad Hospital for providing health services to athletes.
He hoped that the hospital would provide further health services for the country’s sportspeople in all areas.
