KABUL (Pajhwok): Officials of the Kabul Municipality say they plan to implement 181 projects in different parts of urban districts of the central capital this year.
Kabul Municipality held a press conference at the Government Media Center today to provide details on this year's projects and budget.
Mualvi Abdul Rashid Baluch, Kabul mayor, addressing the conference, said that Kabul Municipality planned 181 new projects this year, with a budget of more than 4.811 billion afghanis.
He said that all the expenses of these projects were being financed from internal revenues. He said the schemes included new roads, construction of damaged roads and cleaning of the city.
He called on Kabul residents to cooperate in the implementation of these projects and said that their cooperation was effective.
Mohammad AsifJalalzai, in charge of planning, policy, monitoring and evaluation of Kabul Municipality, told the press conference that Kabul Municipality has new projects for new year.
He said that a balanced development is a basic principle that the municipality would work for.
He said that current year’s budget is based on international standards and all areas of Kabul would be provided with required projects.
The implementation of these projects should have tangible results and solve the social problems of the citizens of Kabul, he said.
Jalalzai said that these projects also included transport, traffic and greenery schemes.
The total budget of Kabul Municipality is eight billion afghanis, of which 4.812 billion afs is the development budget and 3.188 billion afs is general budget, he added.
