JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Chamber of Commerce and Industries in eastern Nangarhar province on Thursday said electricity shortage had forced 80 factories to shut down following the bombing of power pylons in the Salang Pass.
Due to the closure of these factories, the industrialists daily suffer hundreds of thousands of afghanis loss and the situation has rendered at least 4,000 people directly and thousands more indirectly unemployed.
Ajmal Shams, executive director of the Nangarhar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 80 factories in the province had been shut down due to power shortages.
