Explosion reported in front of Istiqlal hotel in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): Eyewitnesses said a bomb explosion took place in front of Istiqlal Hotel on the airport road in capital Kabul on Sunday.

Farhad Shewa, owner of the wedding hall, told Pajhwok Afghan News the explosion occurred in front of the hall at around 4:00pm.

However, he did not provide more details about the blast.

A memorial ceremony to mark the 6^th death anniversary of Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansour, the former leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, was underway when the blast took place.
