AIBAK (Pajhwok): Three pylons supplying power from Uzbekistan have been blown up in northern Samangan province, an official said on Monday.
Abdullah Khan, deputy head of the power utility in Samangan, told Pajhwok Afghan News the pylons were blown up by unidentified men in the Qadmgah village of Khulam district at 1:00 am.
Khan added the electricity supply from Tajikistan had been restored temporarily and the problem was being resolved.
A technical team of the Breshna Shirkat from Aibak has reached the area. The team is striving to repair the pylons as soon as possible.
According to him, no arrest has been made in this regard but efforts are underway to detain the perpetrators.
A resident of the area, who did not want to be named, confirmed to Pajhwok the technical team’s arrival at the site. He said the experts were working to fix the pylons.
