Nimroz storm causes health issues, damages crops

<p style="text-align: justify;">ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Continued storm in the past one week inflicted losses to general health of the people and damaged agriculture sector in southwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Saturday.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Deputy Public Health Department Director Matiullah Moneeb said seasonal storm also known 120-day storm caused respiratory diseases to the people.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">A medical doctor Dr. Fazal Din Noori said after surge in seasonal storm more people have started referring to the civil hospital for treatment.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He said individuals suffering from respiratory disease were more vulnerable to health problems caused by storm.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He added people suffer from congactevit, copd, Astma, Bransholits, Allergy and TB diseases during heavy and severe storm.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Agriculture officials also complained that recent continued heavy storms inflicted losses to the agriculture sector in the province.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Nimroz Agriculture Official Ghulam Farooq Sharifi said: “Recent storm had damaged 80 percent agriculture forms in the Kang district.”</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Syed Esa, one of the farmers in the Chakansour district told Pajhwok Afghan News that recent storm and drought took everything from.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">He said 50 percent of his farm had been destroyed by storm. According to Esa he grew 10 bags of wheat on his land.</p>
